What We Can Do for You

We can assist and advise you on your best course of action in a friendly and professional manner, without judgement.

Under the Domestic Violence and Family Violence Protection Act 2012, domestic violence includes conduct or behaviour, including attempts or threats, that is:

  • Physically, sexually, emotionally, psychologically, or economically abusive.

  • Threatening, coercive, controlling, or dominating, including threats of suicide, self-harm, or property damage.

  • Stalking, including by surveillance.

  • Depriving a person of their liberty.

This law protects you from more than just physical harm. It also covers emotional abuse, financial control, and threats that put you, your family, your property, or your pets at risk.

What to Do If You Are a Victim

If you are experiencing domestic or family abuse, contact a solicitor who can advise you and, if needed, represent you. The Queensland Police Service can issue an on-the-spot Police Protection Notice in certain situations, and may arrest someone on the spot for breaching a Protection Order.

What to Do If You Are Accused

If you believe you are being wrongly accused or that allegations are being used to gain advantage in disputes about children or property, contact us and we can explore options to protect your rights.
